Jim Nallen, Letterkenny / Knockmore, Mayo

The peaceful death has occurred of Jim Nallen, 6, Knocknamona Terrace, Letterkenny, / Knockmore, Mayo in the loving care of the Donegal Hospice of Jim Nallen, 6, Knocknamona Terrace, Letterkenny, formerly Knockmore, Ballina, Co. Mayo.

Retired An Garda Síochána. Predeceased by his wife Anna. Sadly missed and remembered with love by his daughters Mary O’Hehir (Sligo), Caitriona Callaghan (Listillion), Michelle O’Sullivan (Cork) and son Seamus (Listillion), sons-in-law Michael, Damian and Declan, daughter-in law Orla, grandchildren Caolan, James, Shane, Ellie, Laura, Aidan &  Emma, brother Paddy, sisters Kitty & Liz (Ballina), brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many good friends and neighbours.

Jim's remains will repose at his daughter Caitriona's home at Listillion, Letterkenny (F92YCX7) on Thursday, October 5, and Friday, October 6, from 11am with Rosary both nights at 9pm.

Funeral on Saturday, October 7, to St. Eunan's Cathedral for 11 am Requiem Mass which can be viewed live on the link www.churchservices.tv/letterkenny followed by burial in Conwal Cemetery.

Family time please on the morning of the funeral.

Marie Chambers (née Gallagher), Glasgow / Dooey, Dungloe

The death has occurred of Marie Chambers (née Gallagher), Glasgow, formerly of Dooey, Dungloe on September 30 2023, peacefully at home with her beloved husband Vincent, son Joe and daughter Martina by her side.  

Daughter to the late Josie and Mary Kate Gallagher, sister to Francis, Pat and Jim, Nana to Cliodhna, Aaron, Eva, Nathan, Ethan and Mya, Mother In Law to Amanda and Stephen and friend to many.  Sadly missed by all.  

Viewing will take place on Saturday October 14 at Anderson Maguire, 15 - 17 Hamilton Street, Glasgow, G42 0PL between 2pm and 4pm.  

Funeral will take place at 9.30am on Monday October 16 2023 at Holycross RC chapel, 113 Dixon Ave, G42 8ER thereafter to the Linn Crematorium, 413 Lainshaw Drive, G45 9SP.  

Family flowers only, please. 

Jean Laverty, Frosses

The death has occurred of Jean Laverty, Drumathumper, Frosses. Peacefully at Brentwood Manor Nursing Home, Convoy. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her husband Gerry, her son Gerry, daughters Sally, Jean & Patricia, her grandchildren, extended family & friends. 

A private cremation will take place in Lakelands Crematorium Cavan on Thursday October 5. 

House strictly private, please.

Jim Mohan, Cork / Drimarone

The death has occurred of Jim Mohan, Prospect Lawn, Dunmanway, Cork / Drimarone, Donegal Town on October 3, 2023 peacefully, after an illness which he handled with great dignity, and in the presence of his loving family, Prospect Lawn and formerly of Drimarone, beloved husband of Liz (nee O'Brien) and loving father of Stephen, Caroline and Tracy, brother of the late Pat. 

Sadly missed by his sorrowing family, grandchildren Keith, Sean & Allannis, brother John, sisters Marie, Bridget, Kathleen & Eithne, brothers in law, sister in law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours, friends and his former colleagues in Carbery Milk Products.

Visitation on this Thursday evening in O'Neill's Funeral Home, Dunmanway from 6.30pm to 8.00pm.

Visitation on this Friday afternoon from 1.15pm until 2.00pm sharp in O'Neill's Funeral Home followed by Funeral Mass at 2.30pm in St. Patrick's Church, Dunmanway. 

No sympathising in St. Patrick's Church before the Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards to St. Finbarr's Cemetery, Dunmanway. 

Tess Bonner (née Cassidy), Dunamanagh, Tyrone / St Johnston

The death has taken place October 2 at Altnagelvin Hospital of Tess Bonner (née Cassidy) 223 Duncastle Road, Dunamanagh (BT820LP) and formerly of St Johnston.

Beloved wife of the late Anthony, much-loved mother of Fergal, Siobhan, Teresa and the late Catriona, mother-in-law of Philomena, Al, John and Martin, dearly loved grandmother of Michael, Damian, Shane, Emma, Melissa and John and sister of the late Mary, John, Joe and Sarah.

Reposing at her home. Funeral leaving her home on Thursday, October 5 at 11.15am. for Requiem Mass in St Patrick`s Church, Killenagh, Dunamanagh at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Deeply regretted by her sorrowing son, daughters, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and family circle. House private to family and friends only

Jim McGinley, Drumlonagher, Donegal Town

The death has occurred of Jim Mc Ginley, Drumlonagher, Donegal Town, peacefully, in Sligo Hospice, surrounded by his family. Loving husband to Angela, father to Anne, Declan, John, Edel and Damien.

Jim's remains will repose at his late residence from 12 until 6 today, October 4, with removal to St Agatha's Church, Clar, for 7pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday, October 5 at 11am in St Agatha's Church, Clar, with burial immediately afterwards in adjoining graveyard. Family flowers only, donations, if so desired, to Sligo Hospice care of any family member or Faulkner Funeral Directors.


Hubert Cavanagh, Ballymacarthur, Greencastle

The death has occurred of Hubert Cavanagh, Ballymacarthur, Greencastle, (F93 Y6F8)
Hubert passed away peacefully in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Beloved husband of Bridie, loving Dad to Allan, Nicola, Ian and Louise. Devoted Granda to Naoise, Amber, Jack, Charlie, Emily and Sebastian. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his siblings Agnes, Harry, Jim, Philip and the late Bernie (RIP).

Hubert's remains will repose his home. Funeral Mass for Hubert will take place on Friday, October 6, at 11am in St Mary's Church, Ballybrack, Moville, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only, donations, in lieu, to the Irish Cancer Society, c/o any family member.

Family time please from 10pm to 11am and on the morning of the funeral.


Michael Doherty, Tyrcallen, Stranorlar

The death has occurred of Michael Doherty, Tyrcallen, Stranorlar, (F93 WO30). Peacefully surrounded by his loving family and staff at Donegal Hospice, Letterkenny. Beloved son of the late Patrick and Catherine, much loved husband of Rose Anne and cherished brother of Patsy (Birmingham). Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving wife, brother, extended family and friends.

Remains reposing at his late residence. Funeral leaving from there on Thursday, October 5 at 10.30am for Requiem Mass at 11am in the Church of Mary Immaculate, Stranorlar. Interment afterwards in Stranorlar Cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be streamed live via the parish webcam at: https://www.churchservices.tv/stranorlar

Liam Doogan, Ard Colmcille, Letterkenny

The sudden death has taken place of Liam Doogan in hospital in England formerly of Ard Colmcille, Letterkenny, predeceased by his parents Colm and Susan (née McTeague). Deeply regretted by his loving wife Eleanor, daughter Rhiannon, son-in-law Edward, sister Sandra, brother Colm and his two nieces Niamh and Eimear.

Marian Caldwell, (née Diver), Malin Town

The death has taken place at her home of Marian Caldwell (née Diver) of 19 Connolly Homes, Malin Town and formerly of Glebe, Carndonagh.

Her remains will repose in the Oratory at Connolly Homes, where people are invited to pay their respects from 11am to 9pm Wednesday and Thursday.

The funeral Mass will take place on Friday, October 6 at 10am followed by cremation at Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.


John McGeehan, Manchester / Upper Derries, Glenties

The death has occurred of John McGeehan, Manchester and Upper Derries, Glenties. Predeceased by his parents Paddy and Mamie.

John will be sadly missed by his loving wife Bernie, daughter Danielle, son-in-law Charlie and grandchildren Amaya and Alfie, his brother Patsy, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Shovlin's Funeral Home, Sandfield, Ardara, on Thursday, October 5 from 6pm to 8pm. Removal from Shovlin's Funeral Home on Friday, October 6 at 10.15am to St.Connell's Church, Glenties for Requiem Mass at 11am, with burial afterwards in the local cemetery.
