Five post-primary schools recently attended and participated in the first-ever TL21 programme in Donegal.
The TL21 Programme is a workshop-based Continuing Professional Development programme for teachers and school leaders that promotes innovative pedagogic practice and professional learning communities in post-primary schools.
The programme is currently running as a partnership between the University of Maynooth Department of Education and the Donegal Education Support Centre. Participants attend and actively engage in a series of CPD workshops over a two-year period and progressively develop and enhance their capabilities as innovative practitioners.
The programme is a research-led and it's aims include strengthening teachers' capabilities as co-operative and self-critical authors of their own work and also, enabling students to take an active and responsible part in their own learning. Participants include Teachers, Assistant Principals and Senior School Leaders and represent a diversity of school types (ETB, Community and Comprehensive and Voluntary Secondary Schools) and a wide geographical spread.
They include Mulroy College, Milford, PCC Falcarragh, Scoil Mhuire Buncrana, St. Columba's College, Stranorlar and Abbey VS, Donegal Town. Participants are pictured with Ms. Jacqui Dillon (TL21 Facilitator) and Mr. Kieran Mc Taggart (Director of the Donegal Education Support Centre).
