Across the county, 2,571 students will collect their Junior Cycle results today. The total number of Donegal students who sat the examinations was 1,316 boys and 1,255 girls.
The students can access their results in person or online from 4 pm today, October 18, according to the State Examinations Commission (SEC).
This year, there is a record number of students nationwide are receiving their Junior Cycle results. It is the first time over 70,000 students are set to receive their results.
This summer, 71,494 students sat the exam which is the highest number of candidates sitting the Junior Cycle exams or any of its predecessors such as the Junior Certificate and the Inter Certificate.
“To all the students getting their results today, you have reached an important education milestone and your teachers are very proud of you,” Geraldine O’Brien, ASTI President has said.
“Your experiences, efforts and learning will provide a sound basis on which to progress your future studies and your life after completing school,” she said while congratulating the students on the completion of the Junior Cycle examinations.
In 2022, 67,130 students received their results, this year has seen an increase in excess of 4,000 students.
