Countywide there were five drink driving offences and five drug driving offences recorded over the weekend

Gardaí were out on the roads operating speed checks and conducting high visibility checkpoints

Over the course of the Bank Holiday weekend, there were five arrests for drink driving-related offences and five arrests for drug-driving offences across the Donegal Division. 

Gardaí were out on the roads operating speed checks and conducting high visibility checkpoints. Fixed Charge Penalty notices were issued for a variety of other road traffic offences. 

Gardaí continue to urge all road users, regardless of whether it is a Bank Holiday weekend or not to take care on the roads and never to take unnecessary risks. Wear a seatbelt, slow down, don’t use/hold a mobile phone while driving and never drive while under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
