Nutella went missing in Kilmacrennan and fortunately was very well looked after when she was found in Drumkeen
All too often, when cats go missing, they are never found. But there was a very happy outcome for the owners of a cat which has been missing from Kilmacrennan since early October.
Tailless cat Nutella had turned up in Drumkeeny where she was very well cared for. After months of not knowing her fate, her family came across a photo of their beloved pet on the Animals In Need Donegal Facebook page.
A spokesperson for Animals in Need took to social media on Sunday to share the happy news.
"One of the worst things about having a pet go missing is the not knowing," said the spokesperson. "When tailless Nutella went missing in the beginning of October from kilmacrennan, her family had nearly given up hope.
"Imagine their delight this week, when they came across a post of a cat, found in Drumkeen in November and recognised their cat, Nutella.
"Thankfully, the family who found her, had kept her and had looked after her really well and Nutella went home to Kilmacrenan yesterday to her delighted family."
The mystery remains as to how Nutella made the trip from Kilmacrennan to Drumkeen in the first place, a journey of around 20km.
