Muireann Bradley has sold out the famous Dublin venue, Whelan's

Fresh from her show stopping appearance on Jools Holland Hootenanny, Donegal teenager Muireann Bradley has sold out one of the country's most iconic intimate music venues.

Whelan's is well recognised as a staple on the concert circuit for established musicians looking to perform intimate concerts, and for top notch up and coming musicians.

Many of the greats have played the venue since it was taken over and developed as a music venue by Gary Whelan and Ian Keith in 1989. Among them are the late Jeff Buckley who performed there in 1994 while promoting his seminal album Grace. Nick Cave played there in 1996, and many more famous faces grace the walls of the Whelan's, a multi-stage venue now owned by the Mercantile Group.

Muireann has left the music world in no doubt that she can hold her own among the best of them, with her performance of Candyman getting a standing ovation from the industry glitterati on Jools Holland Hootenanny.

She shared news of the Whelan's gig on Facebook on Wednesday lunchtime, saying: "Just announced... Delighted to play Whelan's Dublin on Saturday 13th April."

And just a few hours later she shared the good news, simply saying: "This one sold out fast!"

There is no doubt that 17-year-old Muireann is a very bright star with exciting times to come.
