Planning permission has been sought for a new development in Killybegs
Planning permission has been sought for a new housing development on a site in Killybegs previously earmarked for a playground.
Apex Housing Association (Ireland) CLG has applied for planning for a site on Roshine Road in Killybegs.
The proposed development would see the construction of nine two-storey dwellings and include all associated site works, retaining wall structures and connection to the public services.
There would be six two-bedroom two-storey houses and three three-bedroom houses while the development provides for an open space extending to 400 square metres and would include an equipped play area.
Provisions for car parking are also included.
Located around 300m from Killybegs Main Street, the site is close to The Music Loom venue and is also situated near another residential area and has been the subject of previous applications.
In 2000, planning permission was sought, but not received for a children’s playground and recreational part. That development was being led by the Killybegs Millennium Committee.
In 2005, permission was granted for nine houses while in 2006 an application for the construction of a terrace of eight dwellings was withdrawn.
