More a sense of springtime forecast for Donegal, with temperatures dropping tonight

There will be more of a sense of springtime in the air on Sunday, Met Éireann has forecast.

This morning any mist and fog will gradually clear, leaving a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers of rain or hail at first. The showers will become more isolated as the afternoon progresses. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in light to moderate west to northwest winds.

Tonight, will be another cold night with frost and icy patches developing, with temperatures of -2 to +2 degrees. After a mainly dry start with clear spells and isolated showers, cloud will thicken from the southwest overnight with outbreaks of rain developing in Munster later. Light to moderate southeast winds will freshen in the southwest towards morning.

Tomorrow morning, Monday, many areas will start dry with a few bright spells. However, outbreaks of rain in Munster will gradually spread northeastwards across the country through the day, turning heavy at times. Becoming drier for a time in the south and southwest towards evening. Windy with fresh to strong and gusty southeasterly winds developing and gales on some coasts. Highest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees.
