Coast Guard helicopter airlifts injured person from Carrickfinn

A patient who sustained an injury has been removed by helicopter from Carrickfinn.

Bunbeg Coast Guard was tasked on Sunday afternoon to assist the National Ambulance Service with a casualty South of the Boat Strand in Carrickfinn.

A spokesperson said: "The casualty, who sustained a suspected lower limb fracture was treated on scene before being transferred to the awaiting Sligo based Coast Guard Helicopter for onward transport to Letterkenny University Hospital.

"We’d like to wish the casualty a speedy recovery."
