Rossnowlagh woman Annabel Holland was among 1,000 graduates to receive their parchments at the Spring Graduation Ceremony at Dublin City University (DCU).
The ceremony took place in Mahony Hall in The Helix on the DCU campus on Friday, April 5.
Annabel received a BSc in Nursing, and she was presented with her parchment along with fellow students from the Faculty of Science and Health. Also taking part in the ceremony were students from the Faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences, Engineering and Computing, Dublin Business School, and the Institute of Education.
President of Dublin City University Professor Dáire Keogh said: “The conferring of awards provides an opportunity for the University community to focus, with pride, on its very purpose – to educate our young people to the highest standards and to equip them with the skills and attributes required to thrive and contribute positively to our wider society.
“The world is going through a period of unprecedentedly rapid change and we face many global challenges. However, most of these problems are man made, and it is up to humanity to solve them.
“I am confident that you, our graduates, will play your part in bringing about positive change - delivering on the DCU mission ‘to transform lives and societies’ in your communities, in your professions, in our wider society.”
