Appeal for homeowners to check oil tanks

Homeowners are being urged to check their oil tanks for leaks after oil was found in the Swilly Burn in east Donegal. 

A spokesperson for Donegal County Council said: “Traces of oil have been observed in the Swilly Burn below Raphoe this week. 

“Please check the condition of your domestic or business oil tank, boiler and all connections and pipework.

“If any leaks are found, please repair them as a matter of urgency.”
