Scoil Chróine NS Dungloe is running a fundraising campaign to revitalise the playground.
The goal is to install an all-weather astro turf playing area in the schoolyard. This includes three football pitches, running tracks, a basketball court and a play area for games.
Currently, the school only has a gravel/tarmac area and a football pitch but “that is mostly unusable throughout the year due to weather and drainage issues,” Martin Murray head of the parents association told DonegalLive.
“The goal is to raise €55,000. This will help in providing an opportunity for the children to have greater enjoyment, well-being and exercise during their primary education years. We are relying on people to spread the word to get us over the line and we hope to get the work started this summer.
To help Scoil Chróine NS reach their goal you can donate here.
“Each square foot sponsored for €20 brings us one step closer to achieving this goal. As a token of our gratitude, every sponsor will have their name displayed on the 'Friends of Scoil Chróine Appreciation Wall’”.
