Someone who stopped off in Letterkenny for some shopping has arrived home to find an empty boot.
Their shopping is in the safe hands of gardaí in Letterkenny.
A spokesperson for An Garda Síochana took to Facebook to try and find the owner, saying: "Friday evening has finally come and the working week has wrapped up!
"Speaking of wraps, all you can think of is that yummy chicken wrap you are going to tuck into later on, washed down by a cold fizzy drink! Was this your story this evening? Did you then return home from the shop to discover that your boot was empty?"
"A motorist was travelling at Gortlee this evening when this shopping fell out of the car in front and onto the road. They waited a while but nobody came back so they took it to the Garda Station in Letterkenny.
"Give us a call on 074 9167100 or call to the station to claim your shopping.
"Your Friday evening plans could be saved yet thanks to the kindness of a stranger!"
