The late Brian Campbell was hillwalking in Dunlewey over the weekend
The funeral arrangements of the Derry man who died while hillwalking in Donegal over the weekend have been announced.
Brian Campbell died tragically while he was walking with another man in the Poisoned Glen area of Dunlewey when he sustained fatal injuries after a fall. Gardai and the emergency services were notified at around 1pm on Saturday.
Mr Campbell was the beloved husband of Donna, loving father of Caomhán and Nicole, dear son of the late Agnes, loving brother of Pauline, Donna, Paul, Jacqueline, Neil and Stephen, and a devoted uncle and great-uncle to all his nieces and nephews. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his wider family circle and his friends.
His wake will take place on Tuesday from 11am to 10pm and on Wednesday from 11am to 10pm.
Funeral leaving his home, 42 Woodbrook West on Thursday 25th April at 10.20am to St. Mary’s Church, Creggan for Requiem Mass at 11:00 am Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery.
A second man also suffered injuries and was airlifted from the scene to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment of what have been described as 'non-life threatening'.
