Gweedore singer-songwriter Hannah McFadden is set to perform alongside a band for her hometown gig, tonight.
The gig is set to kick off at 8pm in The Social, Gweedore and will be filmed and broadcast by RTÉ. The 20-year-old singer is gearing up for a big event as tonight’s gig is also the launch of her band, HannahB. RTÉ will broadcast a documentary at a later date titled An Gig Mór, which HannahB will feature in.
HannahB comprises of Ciaran and Cahir Doyle, Darren O’Halloran and Kyle Warner who are all established musicians. The musicians have been connected by having all attended Pobalscoil Chloich Cheannfhaola and participating in the national Scéilp competition. Hannah was previously crowned the winner of the competition in 2019 and 2022.
Two support bands will accompany Hannah on the night, The Notionz and The Stands.
The Notionz describe themselves as a four-piece punk rock-style band from Letterkenny. Manson Gillen is the vocals and guitar, Finlay Thomson is on bass guitar, Bobby Sweeney plays the guitar and Mark Lowry Connolly provides the drums.
The Stands are an indie and rock five-piece band hailing from Falcarragh. The band consists of Ella Fitzgerald as the vocalist, Danny-Jack McGee and Paddy John Fitzgerald on guitar, Oisin MacLaurin on drums and Joseph Terry on bass guitar.
Tickets for the gig are available to purchase on Eventbrite and at the door of The Social Live Gweedore. Boyles Buses are also providing transport from Creeslough, Dunfanaghy and Falcarragh to the venue.
