Maisie Simpson
A fundraiser has been set up to aid the family of a Castlefin teenager battling cancer.
Maisie Simpson, a 13-year-old, has been diagnosed with lymphoma cancer.
The daughter of Louise and Paul Simpson is currently undergoing treatment in Dublin with her parents by her side.
Family friend Kayleigh Harte has set up a GoFundMe to help the family.
Kayleigh said: “She is the most positive little girl taking everything in her stride even after losing her beautiful, dark, long hair. She truly is an inspiration.
“Whilst in Dublin, Maisie's four siblings are being cared for by family whilst also still attending school, where I work with her auntie.
“I am hoping that this fundraiser will help the family with any financial costs occurred throughout this time, may that be with travel, treatments etc.”
The Robert Emmets GAA club, whose under-14 team Maisie plays for until her diagnosis, said: “Maisie played for our u13s,u 14s and u16s last year and gave her 100 per cent in every training and match.
“Everyone at Robert Emmets is behind you Maisie and hope to see you back on the pitch in the near future.”
