Furey's Diner set to close on June 3

Furey's Diner in Donegal Town is to close.

Management took to social media on Tuesday evening to share the  sad news, citing inflation and uncertainty as the reasons behind the tough decision.

A post on the Furey's Diner Facebook page reads:

Dear customers,

It is with great sadness that we have to announce that Fureys Diner will be closing permanently on Monday the 3rd of June.

This was not an easy decision for us, but we have decided to not renew our lease, especially as a small business we had to take in to consideration the future. All small business owners in any line of business knows it has become difficult to continue business with the inflation and the uncertainty of what the future will bring.

We started our business five years ago, and since then survived the pandemic, outdoor dinning and also other aspects of increased expenses, but we did it! We are so proud to say we have been through it all, and we are so grateful for the full experience!

We would also like to say a massive thank you to all our customers, locals, regulars, and people from afar that supported us over the years.

We have made so many great memories with lots of people that we will cherish forever! And we will truely miss you all.

We would also like to thank our dedicated staff for their loyalty, and hard work. We wish yous the very best of luck with your bright futures ahead of you.

A big thank you to all our suppliers,  you have all been a pleasure to do business with over the years and we will miss the fun with your friendly delivery men.

Anyone with gift vouchers please use them before Monday the 3rd of June, they can be used for sit in or takeaway.

We will be continuing our opening hoursM onday to Thursday 9am-5pm, and Friday to Sunday 9am to 8pm, then our last day open is Bank Holiday Monday,  3rd of June , when we will be open from 9am to 6pm.

Its an end of an era for Fureys Diner, but when one door closes another one will open. We are looking forward to new beginnings, and a bright future and we wish you all the very best!
❤️
Thank you all!
