Cystic Fibrosis Ireland is hosting a series of nationwide events in June to meet with people affected by cystic fibrosis (CF) and their families in Ireland.
The Donegal meeting will be held in the Allingham Hotel, Bundoran with Chairperson, Bernie Priestley, and Interim CEO Sarah Tecklenborg in attendance, on June 17 at 7pm.
CFI was set up 61 years ago at a time when 40% of children with CF were not expected to reach secondary school age.
Now, the outlook of a CF diagnosis is much more positive and the team at CFI are increasingly being asked about solutions to the current challenges of living life with CF.
These include third level education options, fertility and family planning supports, work prospects, mortgages, pensions, menopause and more.
Despite the advances made, for many within the community the reality of living with this life-limiting, genetic condition remains an enormous challenge.
The aim of these events is to ask everyone affected by CF “in the changing world of cystic fibrosis, how can we best support you?”
The in-person events are taking place across June and the CF community in Ireland are invited to come along and share their views on the future of life with CF and the support that CFI provides.
Registration is required for infection control purposes, and cross infection protocols will be in place at each event.
An online meeting is also being facilitated for those who cannot or prefer not to join in person.
The dates and locations of the meetings are as follows and CFI looks forward to seeing as many of our community there as is possible.
To register for the online meeting, visit www.cfireland.ie. or to register, email info@cfireland.ie with your name, location you will be attending and your connection to CF.
