Forbairt Na Rossan is launching a booklet to celebrate the 25-year anniversary.

The Dungloe-based voluntary organisation will launch the booklet at Ionad Theampall Cróine (library) on Friday. The welcome reception begins at 6:30pm and the launch starts at 7pm.

The 64-page booklet aims to highlight the achievements of Forbairt Na Rossan since its establishment in 1999, “involving everything we have done in the past 25 years and where we have come,” Paul Greene, Chairperson at Forbairt Na Rossan, told DonegalLive.

Forbairt Na Rossan’s major projects throughout the years include a community soccer pitch, the Dungloe River Walk, refurbishment of Dungloe pier, a court service in Dungloe, a public library, an IT centre, a café and a tourist office.

Mr Greene has been a part of the organisation since the foundation and Helena McClafferty joined as manager in 2014. The organisation secured a 35-year lease of Ionad Tempall Cróine at the beginning, which was due for demolition. The group aims to provide community opportunities in the cultural, educational and recreational spheres, serving as a community hub. Forbairt Na Rossan is supported by Baile Seirbhise Gaeltachta, Pleanáil Teanga and Donegal County Council.
