'Sam Rom' will be shown at the Regional Cultural Centre
The short documentary 'Sam Rom' is to be shown at Letterkenny’s Regional Cultural Centre.
'Sam Rom' depicts the Roma community in Ireland with a heartfelt focus on those living in Donegal. Through deeply personal interviews and intimate scenes, 'Sam Rom' aims to reveal the rich tapestry and diversity within Roma culture while addressing the challenges faced day-to-day.
This documentary amplifies Roma voices by showcasing their strength and resilience in the face of adversity. 'Sam Rom' aims to foster understanding and empathy, challenging stereotypes and advocating for a more inclusive society in Donegal, and across the country.
'Sam Rom' was directed by Katie-Ruby McLaughlin Robinson and produced by Donegal Travellers Project. The short documentary will be shown on Thursday, 25 July at 12 pm at the Regional Cultural Centre, Port Road, Letterkenny.
The documentary will be accompanied by a photographic exhibition by the film's director from the 13th of July in the Regional Cultural Centre in Letterkenny as part of the Errigal Arts Festival.
