Sult Music Festival takes place in Gweedore this weekend with Friday offering a blend of electronic and traditional music while Saturday has rock and indie music in store

Busy weekend ahead at the Big Top for Sult Music Festival

Sult Festival begins this Friday at the Big Top, Gaoth Dobhair.

The Friday lineup is a feast of dance music, electronic and traditional with Example, the UK Dance Music artist, producer and rapper, headlining.  Welshy, KIMMIC, Huartan, HannahB and Shay Mulholland will also take to the stage. The gates will open at 6pm.

The Saturday lineup is a blast of rock and indie music, Bell X1 will perform as the main act, known for musical style and energy and audiences love their live shows. Alabama 3 fuses electronic pop with elements of country and blues styles and the Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Dea Matrona, Cúla Trí and Martin Temple will make it a night to remember. The gates will open at 4pm.

A family-fun day is scheduled on Sunday, there will be a kid's disco, face painting, a magic show and a mascot tribute show. Then, in the afternoon, the All-Ireland SFC semi-final will be shown live at the Big Top.

Sult festival is an independent, community-owned and community-funded event.  Gaoth Dobhair is a lively Gaeltacht area with a deep-rooted identity of Irish culture and language. Sult aims to promote the Irish language and culture, providing a platform for Irish artists to showcase their talent with the Irish language being spoken on stage and throughout the festival enclosure.
