A survey of 506 people have voted Donegal as the third most attractive location for a staycation

With the rise of staycations in recent years, many Irish holidaymakers are opting to explore the beauty of their own country - from the breathtaking landscapes of Donegal to the buzzing streets of Dublin. 

A survey of 506 people have voted Donegal as the third most attractive location for a staycation.

The top three counties for staycations are Galway, Kerry and Donegal.

With the summer holidays commencing, Galway proved the most popular with Irish survey participants as over one in three (37%) crowned it as their ideal staycation destination 

Kerry (29%), Donegal (22%) and Dublin (18%) also made the top five, while the Maldives (35%) appeared to be the top destination for those travelling further afield

The Survey was carried out by Betfair Casino.
