A dwindling number of priests is shown in the latest round of clerical changes announced for some parishes in Donegal.
The Bishop of Derry, Donal McKeown, has announced changes that will come into effect from August 31.
Fr Colm O'Doherty will leave his role as Parish Priest of Clonleigh (Lifford). Fr O'Doherty has been leading anniversary celebratrions at St Patrick's Church, Murlog.
Sixty years after Clonleigh became a standalone parish in the Derry Diocese, a significant move is now afoot again.
Fr O'Doherty is to become the new Parish Priest in Moville, it has been confirmed.
Fr Michael McCaughey, the PP at The Three Patrons parish in Derry, will now become the PP of Clonleigh, but will also be the PP in Camus and in Leckpatrick.
Fr Declan Boland, who is now the PP in Camus will become a Priest-in-Residence for the Camus, Clonleigh and Leckpatrick parishes.
Moville parish priest Fr Edward Gallagher has been appointed as a curate for Camus, Clonleigh and Leckpatrick parishes.
Although the parishes will still have three priests, there will not now be a dedicated parish priest in each in what is a significant sign of the times.
Urney and Castlefin Priest-in-Residence Fr Olivery Crilly will retire, it has been conrfirmed.
