A yellow status weather warning was issued on Saturday, for the early hours of Sunday morning and since then, in Ballybofey, there has been a large quantity of surface water on Navenny Street, which is making it difficult for traffic

The persistent rain has left its mark on Donegal with some roads and areas close to impassable.

A yellow status weather warning was issued on Saturday, for the early hours of Sunday morning. Since then, in Ballybofey, there has been a large quantity of surface water on Navenny Street, which is making it difficult for traffic.

The Donegal Fire Service were quick to respond to flooding in Donegal Town, clearing the water at Clareden Drive

There is another weather wanting in place from 3pm till 10pm tomorrow in Donegal, as well as in Leitrim, Mayo, Galway, Cork and Kerry.

“Heavy and persistent rain at times,” Met Éireann said. “Potential impacts include localised flooding, difficult travelling conditions and outdoor events will be impacted.”
