The winner of the top prize of €25,000 in the Glenswilly GAA Club Development Draw had a couple of reasons to be cheerful over the weekend

Twenty-two-year-old Medical Science student Leeza Cunningham from Glencolmcille was in Glenswilly to collect her cheque and then, a keen footballer herself with her local Naomh Columba club, was confirmed in James Daly's Donegal senior football panel for 2025. Donegal open their Lidl LGFA Division 2 campaign this weekend away to Clare.

Glenswilly launched the draw, which brought in €370,000 in ticket sales, back in June, and Leeza bought the ticket from Cormac Callaghan, who plays for the club's first team when she was on placement last year in the labs in Letterkenny University Hospital.

Leah Doherty from Dumfries, Clonmany, claimed the second prize of €10,000 and Fiona Gallagher of Windmill View, Letterkenny, took third and €5,000.

The €1,000 winners were Martin Boyle, Dore, Bunbeg; John McMonagle, Derryreel, Falcarragh; Oliver McDevitt, Meenatinny, Fintown; Chris Primrose, Wolfe Tone Place, Letterkenny; Grainne Cunningham, Ballaghderg; Michael Bell, Lauren Graham, Tara Gallagher, Eilish Sweeney, Tullygay and Dougie Corbett, Whitethorn, Letterkenny.
