With what Met Éireann is warning is potentially the worst storm to ever hit Ireland, Donegal County Council (DCC) is advising people to stay safe indoors for the duration of Friday's status red weather warning.
Due to the high risk of storm surge, DCC is closing the pier car park in Donegal Town from midnight on Thursday until 7pm on Friday.
Friday's high tides are at 1.11am and 1.34pm.

The status red wind warning is in place in Donegal from 7am to 2pm on Friday.
Potential impacts are:
• Danger to life
• Extremely dangerous travelling conditions
• Unsafe working conditions
• Disruption and cancellations to transport
• Many fallen trees
• Significant and widespread power outages
• Impacts to communications networks
• Cancellation of event
• Structural damage
• Wave overtopping
• Coastal flooding in low-lying and exposed areas
