Charlie McConalogue has missed out on a cabinet position in the new Dáil.
Fianna Fáil’s McConalogue served as Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine since September 2020.
With Fine Gael getting the agricultural role in the new government that will see Micheál Martin as Taoiseach, McConalogue was expected to pick up a cabinet position.
However, that did not materialise, with Simon Harris foreign affairs and defence; Helen McEntee has been confirmed as Minister for Education and Youth; Jim O’Callaghan has been appointed Minister for Justice. The new Minister for Health is Fine Gael's Jennifer Carroll MacNeill.

Paschal Donohoe is the new Minister for Finance and Jack Chambers will take the role of Minister for Public Expenditure, with James Browne Minister for Housing, as Darragh O’Brien moves to Transport and Climate Change.
Jennifer Carroll MacNeill takes up Health; Peter Burke Enterprise and Tourism and Patrick O’Donovan is the Minister for Arts, Culture and Media.
Dara Calleary is the new Minister of Social Protection, Tural Affairs and Gaeltacht; with Norma Foley in for Children and Disability.
