The works will be carried out at Gola Island Pier

A swim shelter is to be developed at Gola Island pier.

Donegal TD Pat ‘The Cope’ Gallagher has confirmed that a grant of €10,350 has been approved by Minster Dara Calleary for the project.

The funding is part of the Clar Measure 3 programme. The purpose of the funding is to develop and enhance community facilities and amenities on our offshore islands.

The swim shelter at the top of the pier will be used by both swimmers and those awaiting the ferry as well as the many who walk Shlí Ghabhla which is part of Bhealach na Gaeltachta agus Slí an Atlantaigh Fhiáin.
