Road sign 60 kilometres per hour

Donegal County Council is looking for public feedback on its speed limit review, which takes into account all public roads in Donegal with speed limits of 60km/h or lower.

These speed limits have been assessed by the Department of Transport guidelines, and proposed changes are recommended.

The Council is running a two-week non-statutory consultation period including drop in events in each Municipal District to facilitate public feedback on the proposals. Proposals which include the introduction of several 30km/h Urban Zones will be presented on colour coded maps.

On  Monday, May 12, the Niall More Centre in Killybegs will open its doors from 4pm to 7pm, followed by the Donegal Town Public Service Centre on May 13 during the same hours.

Wednesday, May 14, will see services available at the Dungloe Public Service Centre from 4pm to 6pm.

The Chamber Carndonagh Public Service Centre and the Abbey Centre in Ballyshannon also open for consultations from 4pm to 7pm on May 15.

On Monday May 19, the Base Enterprise Centre in Stranorlar will welcome visitors from 3pm to 6pm. The month concludes with consultations on May 21 at the Chamber Letterkenny Public Service Centre, which will operate from 4pm to 7pm.

A further statutory consultation period for the Draft Special Speed Limit Bye-Laws will take place later in the year inviting final submissions.
