Eamonn Bonner and Roksana Oliinyk, Donegal Volunteer Centre
Donegal Volunteer Centre has announced that nominations are now open for the 2025 Volunteer Individual Recognition Award and the 2025 Volunteer Project Recognition Award.
These awards honour the dedication and impact of volunteers and community projects across Donegal. The awards will be presented at the Donegal Volunteer Awards Ceremony on Thursday, July 10, at 6pm in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Letterkenny.
Organisations registered with the Donegal Volunteer Centre are invited to nominate individual volunteers who have made a significant contribution to their communities. This is a chance to recognise and celebrate the outstanding efforts of those who give their time, energy and talent to support others and make a real difference.
Eamonn Bonner, Volunteer Placement Officer, Donegal Volunteer Centre said: “Volunteers are the heart of our communities, and their work often goes unnoticed. These awards are our way of saying thank you and highlighting the incredible impact volunteers and community projects have across Donegal. We encourage all organisations to take a moment to recognise the outstanding people and initiatives that support their local community.”
Organisations are also invited to nominate a Donegal-based community project for the 2025 Volunteer Project Recognition Award. Nominations are welcome for projects that are either ongoing or recently completed. Projects will be assessed on criteria including originality and innovation, community impact and the involvement of volunteers. A €400 Shop LK voucher will be awarded to the winning projects as part of the recognition.
Donegal Volunteer Centre, which is managed by Donegal Local Development Clg (DLDC), encourages all eligible organisations to take this opportunity to acknowledge the incredible work being done by volunteers and community groups across the county.
