A new extension is planned for a Lifford national school.

A planning application has been submitted in respect of the proposed addition of a classroom to Scoil Mhuire Gan Smal in Lifford.

The application seeks permission for the construction of an extension to provide the classroom with toilet and storage facilities as well as an external storage area.

The application also provides for storm and foul drainage to connect to the existing system and for all associated site works.

At the last count, the school had an enrolment of 121 pupils.

Donegal County Council say that a decision on the application will be made by September 3, 2025.
