Donegal are appearing in their 13th All-Ireland semi-final, having won in both 1992 and 2012 on their way to lifting Sam Maguire against Dublin and Mayo, respectively. The 2014 victory over Dublin was followed by a loss in the final against Kerry.
In his six season in charge, having been Donegal manager from 2011 to 2014, before returning last year, Jim McGuinness will be looking to see his team go one step further than last year, when they lost out to Galway in the last four.
Today's opponents Meath beat Donegal in the 1990 semi-final but Donegal have won the three championship meetings that followed, in 2002, 2017 and 2019.
