ALERT: Popular products sold in well-known Donegal store recalled amid injury fears

Owners of these bikes should stop using it immediately and contact an authorised Lapierre dealer

A recall has been issued on popular bicycles sold at Castle Cycles, in Raphoe, due to injury fears.

The affected products are Aircode DRS and Lapierre Xelius SL bicycles.

The risk reported to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission is that of injuries. The aluminium shim may leave indentations on the fork steerer tube. Over time, these indentations could develop into cracks. This could cause the fork to fail during use, potentially leading to injuries.

All affected models are listed below:

Owners of these bikes should stop using them immediately and contact an authorised Lapierre dealer. The dealer will check if your bike is affected and if so, will replace the fork.
