Gardaí in Donegal have issued a warning ahead of the schools reopening asking people to slow down around schools, especially around collection and drop-off points

Donegal gardaí warn ‘do not park illegally while doing the school run’

An Garda Síochána Donegal have issued an appeal ahead of schools reopening after the summer break. 

Some schools have already reopened and others will reopen this coming week. Gardaí have asked people to slow down around schools, especially around collection and drop-off points.

“Please do not park in an illegal manner while doing the school run,” An Garda Síochána Donegal said.  “Do not block driveways or park on footpaths, as in doing so you may restrict emergency access or force others to venture out onto the road, which could be very dangerous.

“Please talk to your children about road safety. There are some very helpful resources available at RSA.”
