Ardara’s Little Blue Hero Matthew Gallagher has joined An Garda Síochána.

Matthew previously joined the ranks of Honorary Garda, and following a very busy summer, he passed out flanked by his buddies, who were present to congratulate him at the graduation ceremony.

"Matthew arrived along with his parents and sister to rapturous applause amid flashing blue lights from his colleagues in the Ambulance service, Fire Service, Gardai and Irish Coast Guard," Killybegs Coast Guard posted. "The excitement was at fever pitch and Matthew took it all in his stride. The IRCG Killybegs Unit were represented by Acting Officer in Charge Conor O'Donoghue and Clodagh Mc Gill."
