North West Hospice Charity Launches Inspiring New Podcast Series: The Journey Together to mark Palliative Care Week
North West Hospice Charity is launching 'The Journey Together' — a 13-part podcast that explores the realities of palliative care through open and honest conversations.
Hosted by life coach Tara Rafter, each episode blends personal stories, professional insights, and practical advice to help listeners navigate life’s most challenging moments with clarity and compassion. Tara also features in a special episode, reflecting on self-care and the emotional journey of facing serious illness.
The series brings together voices from across the community — hospice staff, chaplains, social workers, volunteers, legal and financial advisors, and people with lived experience.
Guests include neuroscientist Dr Brian Pennie on resilience; solicitor Jacqueline Dunne on wills and probate; and funeral director David McGowan on approaching funeral planning with confidence. Listeners will also hear moving accounts from families who have experienced the comfort and dignity of hospice care.
“This podcast is about so much more than dying,” says Olive McTague, Charity Manager at North West Hospice Charity. “It’s about living well, making informed choices, and planning. This year’s theme, Living for Today, Planning for Tomorrow, is a reminder that these conversations are for all of us.”
