ATU Donegal's Letterkenny campus
ATU Donegal is holding a health and wellbeing roadshow community event on Thursday evening.
The evening, which takes place from 6-9pm at the Letterkenny campus will feature a series of workshops and information stands.
It will be hosted by Sharon Ferguson, the ATU Donegal Mental Health and Wellbeing Project Officer, and Councillor Donal ‘Mandy’ Kelly, the Leas-Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council.
Admission is free and is open only for over-18s.
“I have been working closely with Sharon over the past few years, and Mental Health is something very close to both our hearts,” Councillor Kelly told Donegal Live.
“We had a conversation prior to the 2024 election about having an event of this kind where we would bring the community together and provide mental health awareness for not only people suffering with mental health challenges but also for the wider community to be informed

“Our aim is to provide this information throughout the wider Donegal community in an environment which is relaxed and de-stigmatising.”
The workshops that will be held are: Addiction Services & Supports - James Devenney, Letterkenny CDP; Financial Safety - Sgt Fergus McGroary; Health & Wellbeing - Kevin Mills; and Gambling Harm & Prevention - Declan Cregan.
Councillor Kelly said: “The workshop topics are relevant to all walks of life. The layout of the evening is that people will move through the workshops , this is designed to reduce stigma & give a sense of safety without self-identifying.
“The workshops are educational and will offer signposting to services within our communities to highlight supports available especially as we come into the Christmas period.
“Each and every individual will be welcomed to this event with open arms and we hope you can all join us on the evening."
