Serious concerns have been raised after a load of builders’ waste was discarded beside a key spawning ground for Atlantic salmon in Donegal.

A Donegal community group has hit out at the incidents.  

It comes after a consignment of materials was discarded near the Abhainn Bhuí, where Atlantic salmon are known to spawn.

“The dumping of builders’ rubbish is ongoing,” said the Gweebarra Conservation Group. “Why don’t they hire a skip like the rest of us do?”

It is understood that a previous pile of roofing tiles was dumped in the same location last week.
