A concert by country star Michael English has raised €6,500 to go towards funding improvements at St Aengus’ church in Burt.

All profits from last month’s concert by the Kildare singer are going towards the fund for the installation of a new heating system in the Liam McCormick-designed church.

The church, which was completed in 1967, was voted Ireland’s Building of the 20th Century in 1999.
