A free workshop aimed at helping local businesses, schools, organisations and individuals to implement cost-cutting and sustainable changes is taking place in Bundoran.

The event, hosted by Green Education Ireland and supported by Clean Coasts, will include presentations on how local businesses, schools, organisations, and individuals can take simple, affordable and easy steps to be more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

The speakers on the day are all involved in projects to encourage sustainability and will be marine biologist Finn Van der Aar, Foodcloud’s Rory Fallon, Ryan Allen of Irish Gap Year and Gina Witherow of Bundoran Tidy Towns.

Dr Niamh Hamill of the Institute of Study Abroad Ireland, one of the organisers of the event said: “All of the schools involved in Green Education Ireland host international students, and all of them include sustainability and environmental sensitivity as part of their programmes.

“So we’ve joined together to ensure that the impact of the students’ international travel will be offset by a number of positive projects which will involve the local area.”

Sustainable Bundoran supported by funding from Clean Coasts, will take place on Friday, February 11 at 11am at the Atlantic Apartotel on Main Street, Bundoran. It is free of charge to businesses and individuals who want to do their bit to become more sustainable going into the future.

Admission is by registration at https://sustainable-bundoran.eventbrite.com
