Ideas sought for traditional March 18 parade - but where are the cups?

Hopes that parade will restore Ardara to happy and cheerful way of life

Ardara St Patrick's Day

The parade in Ardara is always a crowd pleaser and the community really enters into the spirit of the occasion

Always guaranteed to be a great celebration of community spirit, this year's St Patrick's Day Parade in Ardara will no doubt be more celebratory than ever.

After a two-year absence, it is hoped that there will be lots of enthusiasm and fresh ideas to ensure a great day out for everyone.

As is traditional for Ardara, the parade will take place on March 18, and there is already an air of mystery and excitement as plans get underway.

A spokesperson said: "A wonderful person from our community is to lead our parade. The Grand Marshal will be in the company of St Patrick.

"All the bands are now in position.

"We want everyone to be part of bringing Ardara back to its usual happy and cheerful way of life. So please think of ideas and floats for this year’s parade which will start at 3.30pm from the Diamond. Put your thinking caps on.

"There have been many great float ideas over the past two years. Anyone with ideas or wish to enter a float please contact Hugh on 087 6737584."

Where are the Cups?

Anyone who has Cups from the Floats, Bands or Window competition over the past two years is asked to please return them to Hugh.
