"Every time we see something blue, we will be thinking of you."
These beautiful reflections read by the celebrant at the Funeral Mass of Donna Boyle (née Dunnion) in Ardara on Friday morning will linger for a long time with everyone who heard them.

The first piece that was read was written by her husband Brendan:
"Donna, you were such a special person. In so many ways your beauty shone through each and every day. Loving, caring, generous, funny and positive; the list is endless when describing the greatness in you.
"A wife and a mother who was always there for us. Your love, support and guidance we will miss, truly, miss. Family at home and in Barnes meant everything to you.
"We tried to convert you to the green and gold but your heart was always blue.
From Barnes to Kentucky, your journey wasn’t easy but the courage you showed throughout your life was an inspiration to us all. You never complained despite all you went through, always putting people first.
"Donna, that just says it all about you. You achieved so much in your life despite it being cut short, from playing on the Barnes school team to winning an All Ireland in Croagh Park.
"A teacher to admire, you really loved your job, inspiring young people gave you so much joy.
"You really were an outstanding mother who nurtured Eoghan and Aoibhinn with tender love and care.
"We will never forget you as your spirit will live on, especially in the hearts of Eoghan and Aoibhinn.
"From the moment I met you I knew you were the one to marry. The only problem I did have was convincing Donal and Barry!
"Your beautiful smile, your caring and thoughtful way made me love you more and more each day.
"Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us every day. As hard as it is to say goodbye, we can rest assured you are going straight to Heaven and that is for sure.
"Thank you Donna. I love you.
"Brendan"
The second reflection was written by Ms Boyle's children Eoghan and Aoibhinn:
"Mum, you read us many stories, you watched us play and pray. You were our own personal teacher who took care of us each and every day. You were the most beautiful, happy and generous Mum we could ever ask for.
"We just want to let you know you were the best Mum in the world. You were so kind and funny and we love spending time with you.
"Your favourite colour was blue and you would wear it as often as you could. Every time we see something blue, we will be thinking of you.
"We are very sad to see you go and we will miss you each day but we know you will be watching us from Heaven above every minute of every day.
"Now that you’re in Heaven please send us your superpowers. If we ever need you, we will call your name and we know you’ll get there as quickly as you can.
"Mum, you are now our guardian angel so come, watch over us and we will say this prayer to you each night so you can look after us: Angel sent by God to guide me by my light and walk beside me, be my guardian and protect me, on the path of life direct me, Amen.
"We love you Mum. We will miss you forever.
"Love Eoghan and Aoibhinn."
