The Department of Education is seeking tenders for the construction of a new school, south of Donegal Town.
The works shall consist of the removal of the existing prefabricated school buildings and the construction of a new Gaelscoil na gCeithre Máistirí two storey primary school at Brookfield, Donegal.
The planned new school will have a gross floor area of 2,142 sq metres together with all associated site works, including external play areas, extended vehicular set-down and surface car parking areas, plus a new emergency access road from the school onto The Old Laghey Road and extension of existing public footpath.
Part of the criteria for interested parties is that the works “are to be completed in a phased and sequential manner to facilitate continual school operational capacity.”
The closing date for tenders is March 15.
Planners granted conditional planning permission to the Department of Education for the building of a new two storey primary school last July.
