The much-loved Burrito Loco restaurant in Letterkenny is celebrating a unique hospitality hat-trick after being named Ulster winner in the Just Eat Takeaway Awards for the third year in a row.
And there was reason to celebrate for another Letterkenny eatery - the Charcoal Grill - which won bronze in the best in Ulster category.
The Round Room in Dublin’s iconic Mansion House played host to the eighth annual Just Eat Takeaway Awards this week.
The glamourous black-tie event, which was presented by popular comedian and convenience food enthusiast Joanne McNally, was developed by Just Eat to uncover the nation’s favourite takeaways.
It was a hat-trick for local Mexican eatery Burrito Loco, Letterkenny who walked away with the Just Eat Best in Ulster title for the third consecutive year.
No stranger to the Takeaway Awards, the popular restaurant also managed to scoop the runner-up spot in the Best Mexican category, beating off stiff competition to take home Silver.
Decided by public vote, Burrito Loco were awarded for their great tasting menu and range of authentic Mexican flavours, available for delivery straight to your door!
Donegal and indeed Letterkenny, received a third award on the night with Charcoal Grill, taking home the Bronze in the Best in Ulster category.
A prominent figure of Turkish cuisine, the Charcoal Grill team pride themselves on delivering tasty Turkish dishes to the people of Letterkenny.
A total of 188 restaurants and convenience retailers were nominated by Just Eat under 26 categories, with shortlisted representatives from all over the country joining Ireland’s leading online food ordering and delivery app on the night to find out who would take home the crown.
The winners in each of the categories were decided by public vote, with the Just Eat Takeaway Awards giving customers the chance to support their favourite local Makers of Greatness.
Recognising the responsive efforts of restaurants and convenience retailers in the sector delivering great tasting quality cuisine, the night was a showcase of the diversity of choice and range of options now available to Just Eat customers for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The highest accolade of the night was the Best of Ireland Award, won by popular Irish owned diner Ruby’s Pizza & Grill, Swords.
