Finn Valley College students take a quick break from rehearsing for their Christmas shows at the Balor
The staff and students of Finn Valley College, Stranorlar are deep in rehearsals for their annual Christmas variety show which this year takes the theme, Ceili House.
The show, a two-hour mix of song, dance and comedy, is an annual event in Ballybofey that the recent Covid outbreak pushed off stage and online over the past two years.
“We were forced to think outside the box for 2020 and 2021 when the theatres closed their doors to the public,” said teacher Shaun Byrne.
"Luckily we had some technical expertise on our staff to help us create two online shows that proved very popular over the two festive seasons pulling in over 40,000 views, a phenomenal figure for a small school like ours
"However," he added. “I must say it’s great to be back in a live setting again, the excitement and the buzz are just something else.”
Lisa Treanor added her thanks to the army of backstage helpers, both staff and students who make these performances possible.
“Without the support of these people the show literally would not go on.”
The show opens tonight, Tuesday, December 13 and runs for three nights. Get your tickets soon as it is selling out fast we have been told.
