Hayden Paddon has confirmed his participation in this year’s Donegal International Rally.

The New Zealand driver took to social media on Tuesday to announce he’ll be at the starting grid for the June 222-23 event.

The Donegal Rally takes competitors across three thrilling days of driving across famous stages like Knockalla, Carnhill and Glen.

And 2024 ERC Champion Padden says he cannot wait to push his Hyundai i20 N Rally 2 around that same terrain.

“I’ve heard so much about the Irish rallying scene and the legendary status of the Donegal Rally,” said Paddon.

“Now I finally get to experience it myself. Even though it’s a last-minute entry, I’m really excited to take on the stages in the Hyundai i20 N Rally2 and feel the energy from Irish rally fans.”

With crowds exceeding 70,000 and an audience approaching 400,000 across TV and digital platforms, the Donegal International Rally stands as one of Europe’s most-followed rally events.

It remains the only three-day tarmac rally in Ireland and the UK, drawing top-tier competitors from Ireland, Britain, and beyond.

Paddon who has competed around the world at WRC level previously will take the seat of Matt Edwards and will have Dave Moynihan as navigator.

“Regulations mean only one change is allowed to an entry, and teaming up with Dave, who has deep knowledge of the Donegal stages, was the best move. I can’t wait for an unforgettable rally weekend.”

This year’s event also serves as a full counting round of the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship.
