Rhys Irwin, the 2025 British Supersport champion, was back in action at the Sunflower Trophy at the weekend.
Irwin and his brother, Caolan, were in action for Burrows Engineering on the Yamaha 600 at Bishopscourt.
Having not raced a 600 for three years Caolán Irwin had no expectations as the Ulster Championship was hotly contested.
In race 1 Rhys Irwin took an immediate lead finishing the race 15 seconds ahead of his closest rival.
For race 2, Rhys Irwin put on quite a masterclass, going 20 seconds ahead of his closest rival with Caolán Irwin finding his race pace, putting the Burrows Engineering firmly on the podium a hair's breadth behind the newly crowned Ulster Champion McGreevy.
Rhys Irwin said he was delighted to end his amazing season in the BSB at home so that he could meet all his fans that supported him all year in the UK.
Caolán Irwin was delighted to be back racing and on the podium with both brothers and the entire family admitting that it was time for a few weeks’ rest before winter training starts in December.
Last weekend, Rhys was crowned the Quattro Supersport Champion 2025 following a record breaking season with six wins, three second places and four third place finishes totalling 13 podium finishes at the British Superbikes Championship.
