Ireland's oldest animal rescue has removed dozens of birds from a back garden in Dublin City.
Inspectors at the DSPCA (Dublin Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) rescued the animals after receiving a complaint about an unspecified amount of fowl kept in a suburban garden.
The inspectors called to the premises and spoke to the owner, after which all 27 birds including geese, goslings and ducks were surrendered into the care of the DSPCA.
The birds were transported back to the DSPCA shelter, with all scheduled to receive a full veterinary check.
