Drug driver detected to be driving nearly 200m/h in 100km/h zone

In a roadside test, the driver tested positive for cocaine

A motorist was detected to be travelling miles over the speed limit on the N5.


Last night, the Roads Policing Unit  in Mayo carried out a speed checkpoint on the N5 near Swinford. 


This motorist was detected to be travelling at 198km/h in a 100km/h zone. 


In a roadside test, the driver tested positive for cocaine.


He was arrested and charged with dangerous driving.
