National: Gardaí arrest speeding driver under the influence of cannabis

GARDAÍ in Dundalk have arrested a driver for both speeding and driving under the influence of cannabis.

While conducting routine speed checks, gardaí of the Dundalk Roads Policing Unit discovered a vehicle racing at an alarming 138kph in a 80kph zone. 

Upon further investigation, the driver underwent a drug test, which yielded positive results for cannabis.

The combination of speeding and operating a vehicle under the influence led to the immediate arrest of the individual.

The arrested driver is expected to face legal consequences, with a court appearance scheduled to address the charges.
